At this time, due to insufficient numbers of organizing committee veterinary technicians in neurology, this area can not be included in the Academy.
A minimum number of 6 neurology veterinary technicians must be identified in order to proceed. Members of the Organizing Committee must meet or exceed the NAVTA standards of
At least 7 years of experience as a veterinary technician in the field of Neurology
At least 75% of your 7 years must be in the field of Neurology
Be the leaders in the field of Neurology Veterinary Technicians
Commit to creating a Veterinary Technician Examination in Neurology, Advanced Skills List and Advanced Knowledge List
The standards for Organizing Committee members are above and beyond the standards for candidates. The members of the Organizing Committee will become the Charter Members at the time of the first examination in Neurology. It is our intention to add neurology as a subspecialty of AIMVT as soon as the number of qualified individuals is sufficient.

If you are a neurology technician that would like to be kept updated on our activities, please complete the Prospective Member Form in the Quick Links section of the website. The standards for candidates in the current subspecialties of AIMVT can be found under the Exam Information section and follow the links to Prerequisites. The standards will be the same for neurology candidates when that subspecialty is added to the Academy.
