Responsibilities include:
§ Assist with and performing minor medical and surgical procedures under veterinary supervision
§ Prepare patients for and assist with exams and procedures
§ Attend rounds as directed, providing patient information to appropriate staff
§ Monitor and maintain good patient flow through the clinic
§ Prepare clinical and medical records, business office paperwork, charge sheets and request forms
§ Schedule procedures and maintain inventory § All other related projects and duties as assigned Successful candidates will have these qualifications§ MUST have NYS veterinary technician’s license or permit
§ Must be a high school graduate and a graduate of a New York State-accredited veterinary technician’s program
§ Must have demonstrated ability to provide quality nursing care and technical services
§ Ability to work successfully as part of a team
§ Ability to remain composed in stressful and emergency situations
§ Ability to maintain effective, respectful working relationships with all colleagues and clients
§ Flexibility to work additional hours when necessary
§ Ability to communicate clearly with clients, technicians and vets
§ Ability to follow detailed protocols, as well as perform data entry and neatly and correctly complete paperwork

Veterinary Emergency Center - Internal Medicine Department
Veterinary Emergency Center (VEC) is seeking licensed veterinary technicians with a strong background in internal medicine. VEC is a 24 hour emergency, critical care, and specialty center located in the city of Richmond, VA. We are expanding our specialty services to include an Internal Medicine Department. Technicians are compensated based on experience level with starting salaries ranging from $16 -$20 per hour. LVTs with specialty certification in emergency, anesthesia, or internal medicine are guaranteed a salary of $26 per hour.
